"Oh," Seth nodded with a smile. "An animal lover, huh?" Seth loved animals as much as anyone did. However being a veterinarian sounded just as scary to him as being a doctor, which his father was. His parents were both in the medical field. Seth would never be able to work knowing that the fate of another person's loved one was in his hands. His father worked in the trauma unit during third shift, so he saw a lot of action. He would come home sometimes and talk about how there was an accident the night before, and how he lost a patient. Seth admired his father and anyone who worked in the medical field, but it wasn't for him.

Seth grinned at the toddler and chuckled when she gave him a shy wave. "She's cute," he said as he turned back to Keela. "How old is she?" If he had to guess, he would put the toddler at two, but he couldn't be too sure.

Keela nodded. "Yep," she answered. She hadn't had any pets growing up, but she always wanted one. She felt by taking veterinary she would be one step closer to getting a pet. She wanted to get either a kitten or puppy for Julia's fifth birthday, which was one and a half years away. Keela didn't want Julia to grow up without a pet like she had. Having a pet seemed to make people happier, at least that was what Keela thought.

When Seth asked how old Julia was, Keela answered, "Three and a half." She looked at Julia. The toddler was happily playing with a few toys. Ever since Julia turned three, Keela had let her walk to more places. But since Keela planned on being out most of the day she had brought the stroller in case Julia wanted or needed to rest.

Seth nodded at Keela. "That's really cool, that you want to help animals and all," he said. He looked at Keela now, watching her, hoping that she wouldn't quite take any notice. She seemed very quiet, shy even. He realized that must have been why they had never spoken in class before today. Seth never minded when people were quiet, he respected people when they preferred not to speak, but he was left wondering if there was a reason that Keela was so quiet.

"Aw," Seth said, switching his gaze back to Julia. "So you're a pretty experience mother, then? For three and a half years?" He didn't look at Keela when he asked, instead he kept his eyes on the toddler playing with the toys and smiled.

Keela looked back at Seth, nodding slightly. "Yeah," she said quietly. Keela had always wanted to help animals one way or another. At the moment she couldn't afford a pet but she was saving up. And once she was done with school and could get a good paying job...well, she would be at the local animal shelter in minutes.

Keela shrugged when Seth ask if she was an experience mother. "I guess." When Julia was first born, Keela worried she wouldn't be able to look after her daughter, give her everything she needed. Keela was also worried that she would know how to take care of a baby properly. But so far she had been doing a pretty good job. Julia was a happy toddler.

"So, you know my major and minor, and I know your major, but what's your minor...if you don't mind me asking," Keela asked Seth before taking a sip of her drink.
