It's all the same, only the names will change
Everyday it seems we're wasting away
Another place where the faces are so cold
I'd drive all night just to get back home
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days
And the people I meet always go their separate ways
Sometimes you tell the day
By the bottle that you drink
And times when you're alone all you do is think
Everyday it seems we're wasting away
Another place where the faces are so cold
I'd drive all night just to get back home

Sterling would be lying to say that he had been slacking on his roommate duties. Well it didn’t help that he had Mr. Clean Freak himself as a roommate. Vincent and Sterling were one of those friendships that made no sense except to themselves. Even most of the time they didn’t make sense to each other. Opposites attract was the only possible solution to the mess. Sterling was taking a full load of credits during the day, worked Tony’s Bistro during the week at night and the Saturday and Sunday during the day he just got another internship working for a homicide detective. It was his dream job so of course he said yes. He was a pretty busy guy, there was no way that Vincent could blame him for…well not keeping up his fair share of the housework except for the fact that it stressed out Vincent and there was just a whole explosion of who’s responsibility everything was and usually it ended up in Sterling doing dishes for an extra hour that night. Ster pushed open the door sliding his backpack to the ground right next to the door before kicking off his boots. He then shrugged out of his tie throwing it on the table. He stretched before pulling a green monster from the fridge kicking the door shut with his left foot.
He grabbed the last two cookies from the package before devouring them in seconds. He grabbed his backpack emptying it onto the table. He pushed a few things aside finding the internship files he had to look over and summarize before grabbing a highlighter from the front pocket and a leftover Wendy’s jr. bacon burger from lunch. He popped it into the microwave waiting a few seconds realizing it popped everywhere. He squinted before shrugging his shoulder throwing a paper towel on the mess promising himself he’d come back later. He held the file under his elbow before retreating to his own room down the hall and to the left. Sterling had given Vincent the master bedroom in hopes that he wouldn’t have to listen to the griping of how dirty the bathroom is. The only issue was that his bathroom was the one guests used and Vincent was always up in arms about cleanliness. Sterling attempted to open his door as it didn’t budge. He glared shoving the rest of the burger in his mouth before using his right shoulder to barge in the door. He sighed picking up the longboard that had fallen over the door knob before tossing it onto the bean bag in the corner of the room. He waded his way through dirty clothes and old pizza boxes before finding his desk under another massive pile of clothing.
Sterling adjusted his lap after flicking a Crasins package away from the bulb. He sighed realizing that yesterday’s homework was still sitting on the desk where he had left it before the avalanche of clothing occurred. He dug around his drawer that was filled with random change, old headphones, screwdrivers, and AHA a blue pen. He began scribbling on a legal pad next to the file. He attempted to find only things that would please his boss from the file. He was a junior now and they were expecting quality. Sterling did not want to work at Tony’s Bistro for the rest of his life and if taking this extra internship would guarantee him a spot in the real world he would for sure secure it. Sterling turned in his seat throwing a shirt and a pair of vans from a top of the large stereo cranking the volume button up. ”’ CAUSE I’M WANTED…WANTED,” Ster sang as loud as his lungs could handle as he scribbled on the legal pad when he thought he heard something. He paused the stereo as he heard the front door make its loud clanging noise. That he had promised Vincent he would fix about a week ago. He forgot to clean the microwave and pick up his backpack and and-- He bit down on his lip jumping out of his seat. There wasn’t enough time now. It was time to abandon ship! Sterling launched himself into a pile of stuff on his bed hiding himself the best he could from Vincent. Maybe he would just think he hadn’t come home yet. ”Deaddddd or alive, probably dead,” Ster murmured under the pile of clothes realizing he left his desk lamp on before giving a solid facepalm in annoyance with himself.
